| This pattern is for a wonderful primitive folk art Santa that can be hooked traditionally with wool strips or done Nantucket-style with hand-dyed yarn (also known as the Oxford punch needle method, which is similar to punch needle embroidery). I used hand-dyed wool to complete this project and it was very fast and fun! During the Christmas season, I tuck my Olde World Santa against some greenery on my mantle, right alongside my Olde World Snowman that is also offered on this site. This Santa is backed with red wool, or you can use other backing fabric of your choice. The pattern includes complete and detailed instructions, photos and diagrams. Basic rug hooking knowledge is assumed and recommended.
