Inspired by the giant cockscomb flowers that grow in hot mid-summer, this hooked rug pillow measures 11" and can be hooked traditionally with 1/4-inch wool strips or with wool yarn, called Nantucket style, which is popular in New England. This design is fun and fast to complete and the colors are bright and invigorating. Portions of the background are hooked in a circular motion, and if you have never hooked circles before (or if you worry about hooking them), I have included a special instruction section in the pattern that makes hooking round shapes easy and fun. The pattern comes with a full-size diagram you can transfer to your linen or monks cloth foundation, together with instructions on how to add a backing and finish your pillow.
