Hundreds of years ago, many countries celebrated Christmas with Santa accompanied by assistants or helpers, known as Belskickel Santas. The Belsnickel Santa was in charge of naughty boys and girls, and his face was usually sooty and a bit less jolly than our traditional Santas. Make this 17" Belsnickel Santa (9" sitting) for Christmas or to display all year. This Santa sits on his own and is very simple to make. The rug hooking portion is done in traditional hit-or-miss style, and the body is made from aged muslin, giving him a primitive, time-worn look.  Ol' Kris is the second in a series of Santas created especially for hookers (rug hookers, that is). Kris Kringle stands 17" tall and is able to stand on his own on your mantle or on a shelf with Christmas greenery.  Meet Jack-Rabbit Slim, a wiley character who's been sneaking carrots and eating all of Farmer Brown's tender spinach. He's been very hard to catch and was recently spotted padding around other gardens in search of yummy edibles. "TROPICAL TANGO" HOOKED RUG PILLOW Inspired by the giant cockscomb flowers that grow in hot mid-summer, this hooked rug pillow measures 11" and can be hooked traditionally with 1/4-inch wool strips or with wool yarn, called Nantucket style, which is popular in New England. "HUNNY BUNNY" This pattern is for a wonderful bunny you can make from supplies that are readily available at your local fabric store. Hunny Bunny is approximately 29" tall when stretched out from head-to-toe, and she sits approximately 15" high when seated. Her bottom is weighted so she is stable and will not fall over, so you can perch her on a bench or stairway.
